I’ve escaped to a painting sabbatical on the Gulf of Mexico. For two weeks now, daily, it’s been dog walking, biking and painting, especially along Sarasota Bay. There is nothing like color and values as a challenge to keep up the drawing skills and rapid response to a changing environment.
Happy Birthday To Me: Twomey Painting Sold as Print!
SO THANKFUL to the Colorado collector of “East Fall Blue Ridge 3.0” print from:

and on my B-Day, no less. Really appreciative! Kind of makes up for the fact that it’s been pouring all day.
"Buck Mountain Vineyards" SOLD, Thanks To The Collector!
Very grateful to the collector of this artwork! This 15”X18” print was sold to a fine person from Parker, Colorado.
The original was a plein air painting done along Buck Mountain Road near the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia.
For additional information or to purchase prints, please see:
"Two Palms, Gulf Coast" Original Plein Air Painting
I wish I knew enough about palms to guess how old these two are. They’ve (obviously) bent in the wind and are guarding the inlet into Sarasota Bay. The Bay, I recently learned, is only about four feet deep and full of grasslands and wildlife.
WIP Work In Progress: "Blue Mountain Night" by C. Twomey
There’s something strangely satisfying about starting a painting with a graduated tint. This is going to be the Blue Ridge Mountains as night descends on Asheville. It’s 12X16” on Canson board.
SOLD! Thanks to the collector! C. Twomey Original Art
I am so grateful to the collector of this work from my Manifesto Series, entitled “"Manifesto 5.0: The Gulf, Sarasota" which is going to a new home in California. To view additional original art, please visit:

Happy Holidays to all.
Sold, thank you to the collector! C. Twomey Award Winning Art
“Thomas Jefferson's White Oak Tree On The Way To James Madison's For Afternoon Tea” sold to a collector, with much appreciation from the artist! This gorgeous white tulip tree is just west of Rt. 29 in Charlottesville, VA. It’s a stunning, old beauty that I well imagined Jefferson admiring on the way to Madison’s estate back in the day. The original is 12X24”, oil on gessoboard. For additional prints:
"Autumn Vermont Light" C. Twomey Now Offered
Just finished this piece after a visit to the Rochester area of Vermont. I wanted to capture the extraordinary contrast between the changing leaves and turbulent skies. The winters can be brutal there, but their falls are spectacular.
Thank you to the collector; "Blue Ridge Blue Sheep Cloud"
This painting was sold as a print here:
https://fineartamerica.com/featured/blue-ridge-blue-skyline-sheep-cloud-catherine-twomey.html
Catherine Twomey, "Blue Ridge Blue Sheep Cloud" 30.000" x 21.375", print
Painted live along Skyline Drive in the Piedmont Area of Virginia, in Shenandoah National Park. Made me feel like an angel as the warm summer breezes overcame my easel and me. I loved the patterns; the repetition of shapes and most of all, the color of these mountains. See the sheep cloud to the upper right? My eye finally found him after I thought I was done, but he's welcome to stay.
Thank you very much to the collector!
