SOLD! "Buck Mountain Vineyard" by C. Twomey, Print

A bit of background: Driving along Buck Mountain road as the sun was starting to head down, I pulled off the road as I had to get this sight down. The most stunning view of the day - the vines, the mist in the Blue Ridge mountain valley's, the way the sun blasted the foliage. No wonder I love this place - this landscape view is about five minutes from my house and has brought me great peace and happiness.

Very thankful for the collector of this print from Charlottesville, VA! I wandered around on a hot spring day, capturing many opinions of what this barn meant to the surrounding landscape. The shadows pointing to the strong design of the barn pulled me in. 5 X 7" oil on archival linen board.

Some history for the buffs: Bleak House was a 692‑acre plantation nine miles northwest of Charlottesville. Dr. James B. Rogers (1793‑1863) purchased it from the heirs of William Michie in 1836 and built the house, which still stands, about 1854. The plantation bordered the South Fork of the Rivanna River about five miles upstream from the Hydraulic Mills. Wheat, tobacco, corn, and livestock were raised there and activities included blacksmithing and textile production.

“Thomas Jefferson's White Oak Tree On The Way To James Madison's For Afternoon Tea” sold to a collector, with much appreciation from the artist! This gorgeous white tulip tree is just west of Rt. 29 in Charlottesville, VA. It’s a stunning, old beauty that I well imagined Jefferson admiring on the way to Madison’s estate back in the day.
