I just returned from a couple of weeks visit to Glacier National Park in Montana. It was a bucket-list trip, and so worth the effort. Daily hikes and painting sessions made the trip memorable. Only ran into one grizzly bear (one is enough….) and saw lots of mountain goats. This painting was from the front of Many Glacier Lodge, where lots of glaciers still exist and are so beautifully clean and reflective.
"Orchard Pass" Original by Catherine Twomey
Early spring venture up to a mountain pass orchard near my home. Painted plein air, in a field next to the apple trees. I was struck by the white blossoms of the apple trees against the receding mountains. This is an original painting on archival Crescent board, and is ready for framing.

SOLD "Taylor Jug With Pear" by C. Twomey
Many thanks to the collector for purchasing "Taylor Jug With Pear." Oil on archival board, 8 X 10", SOLD. These old jugs have such character - imagining their history, the hands that have held them, how and where they were created - takes me back to a different time and place. #stilllifepainting #stilllife #jugpainting #Taylorjugpainting #catherinetwomey1 #oilpaintingstilllife #collectorofart #artcollector #artcollection #fineart https://fineartamerica.com/featured/taylor-jug-with-pear-catherine-twomey.html
"Saw Mill Hill Road" Sold To Melbourne Collector
Very grateful to the Melbourne, Australia collector who purchased this work. A lovely walk down Sawmill Road in Rochester, Vermont had me pulling the paints out. A warm, unforgettable fall day, and yes, that yellow tree was really that yellow.

"Tropics of the Pool" by C. Twomey
Acrylic, 12 X 16” on archival oil paper.
I spent a day painting this gorgeous pool on Anna Marie Island, Florida. It was too windy for the beach, so somehow I became engrossed with the water and shapes of the pool. It was mysteriously surrounded by plantings many of which were in the shade. It was quiet and mesmerizing to watch the waves and colors change.
